Refund Policy

the 30-day goodwill policy

Also known as our 30-Day Goodwill Policy. It covers every purchase of a Pretty Tidy product made through prettytidy.me, and any refund connected to it. Words defined in our Terms of Use carry the same meaning here.

Please read this before you buy. Pretty Tidy products are digital and delivered in full the moment you pay, so there is no such thing as returning one unused — and this page explains what we do instead.

Why a digital product cannot be returned unused

Your product ships the instant your payment clears. There is nothing to post back to us and nothing for us to put back on a shelf — the moment the file is opened, downloaded or viewed, it has been used.

What you buy is not an object. It is a licence to use our work: the routines, the wording, the layouts, the files. Once that work has been opened it has been read, and a copy of it now sits on your device. Neither of those can be handed back or taken away. In other words, the intellectual property we granted you access to cannot be un-granted, and its value to you was delivered in full the first minute you opened it.

For that reason, and consistent with the intellectual property rights attaching to digital content, delivery of a Pretty Tidy product is complete and irreversible at the moment of access, and no Pretty Tidy product can be returned in an unused state. By completing checkout you ask us for immediate access and confirm that you understand this.

So fees paid for Pretty Tidy products are, strictly speaking, non-refundable and non-exchangeable. We would rather be kind than technical about it, so we offer a goodwill window anyway.

The 30-day goodwill window

You have thirty (30) days from the date of purchase to write to us and ask. Nothing in this window is an entitlement — it is goodwill, offered because we would rather you felt looked after than trapped — and it does not replace any right the law where you live gives you.

We will review a refund request in these situations:

  • you never received access to what you paid for within fourteen (14) days of purchase;
  • the files you received are corrupted, incomplete, or do not work as described;
  • you were charged twice for the same order; or
  • we decide, entirely at our discretion, to offer you a goodwill refund.

How to ask

  • Write to support@prettytidy.me from the email address you used at checkout, within 30 days of your purchase.
  • Include your order number, the checkout email, which product you bought, and a short line about what happened. If something is broken, attach a screenshot or a short screen recording — it gets fixed faster.
  • We may come back to you for more information. We aim to review every request and reply within five (5) business days.
  • After our review we may, at our sole discretion, decline the refund, or approve it in part or in full.

If something looks wrong with your order, please email us before opening a dispute with your bank — nearly everything is faster to fix directly, and a chargeback opened without contacting us first will be treated as abuse of this policy.

What makes a request eligible

  • it arrives within 30 days of purchase;
  • you can show proof of purchase; and
  • the product has not been shared, resold, copied, redistributed, posted publicly, or used in any way our Terms of Use prohibit.

When we will say no

We reserve the right to decline a refund where:

  • the request arrives after the 30-day window has closed;
  • the product has been shared, copied, resold, redistributed or posted publicly;
  • the request appears fraudulent, or forms part of a pattern of repeated refund requests or chargeback abuse; or
  • the purchase was a gift card, or a custom or personalised product made for you.

None of this limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited by contract.

How approved refunds are processed

We will email you the outcome either way. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method and usually appear within five to ten (5–10) business days, though your bank or card issuer sets the pace. If more than fifteen (15) business days have passed since we told you a refund was approved, write to support@prettytidy.me and we will chase it. Once refunded, your licence to use the product ends and you agree to delete the files.

If you live in California or Connecticut

You may cancel your purchase at any time before midnight of the third (3rd) business day after the day you bought it. Cancel in time and we will refund everything you paid for that order.

We know where you are only from the billing details you give at checkout, so if a state right applies to you, please say so in your email and we will apply it.

If you live in the EU or UK

Consumers normally have a 14-day cooling-off period in which they can cancel a purchase without giving a reason.

By placing your order you ask for the product to be made available to you immediately, and you accept that once we have delivered it you lose that 14-day right of withdrawal.

If your access has genuinely not been used, downloaded, opened or duplicated, write to us within 14 days of purchase and we will cancel the order and refund you in full.

Your statutory guarantee still stands. If the product is faulty, not as described, or does not do what you could reasonably expect, you can ask us to put it right. If we cannot do that within a reasonable time, free of charge and without significant inconvenience to you, you may be entitled to a partial or full refund. None of this affects the 30-day goodwill window above, which is more generous.

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Pretty Tidy (“Pretty Tidy”, “we”, “us”, “our”). They govern your use of prettytidy.me (the “Site”) and everything we sell or provide through it (the “Products”).

By browsing the Site or buying a Product you confirm that you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Site or buy from us. Our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Disclaimer form part of this agreement.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your rights we will say so on this page and, where we hold your email address, tell you by email. Continuing to use the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

1. What Pretty Tidy is — and is not

Pretty Tidy is a set of cleaning routines, planners and organising tools. It is designed to help you structure your day and your home. It is not healthcare, therapy, coaching or medical advice, and using it does not create any professional or clinical relationship between us. Our Disclaimer sets this out in full and applies to everything in these Terms.

2. Who may buy

By using the Site you confirm that:

  • you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement and are at least the age of majority where you live — under that age, only with a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf;
  • the information you give us at checkout is accurate and yours to give;
  • you are not located in, and not a resident of, a country or territory subject to comprehensive sanctions, and you do not appear on any restricted-party list; and
  • your use of the Products will comply with the laws that apply to you.

3. Orders, prices and delivery

  • Every Product is digital. You pay once and receive immediate access by download or link. Nothing is shipped, and no physical item is ever sent.
  • Prices are shown in US dollars (USD) before you pay and may exclude sales tax or VAT, which is added at checkout where it applies.
  • Payment is taken by our payment provider, Gumroad. We never see or store your full card details.
  • We may change prices, run promotions, retire a Product or add to it at any time. A price change never affects an order you have already paid for.
  • Delivery is to the email address you enter at checkout. Please type it carefully — if the files do not arrive, check your spam folder and then email us and we will resend.
  • Delivery is usually instant, but can take a few minutes depending on email providers, spam filters and payment verification.
  • Before you buy, please check that the product suits you. You are responsible for having a device and a PDF reader able to open it, and we are not responsible for problems caused by third-party apps, software updates, device limits or connection issues.
  • Product images, previews and mockups are for presentation. What you receive may look slightly different depending on your device, reader or printer.
  • Your purchase is not conditional on any feature we may release later, or on anything we have said publicly about future plans.

4. What you may do with the Products

When you buy a Product we grant you a personal, worldwide, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence, with no right to sub-licence, to use it for your own private, non-commercial purposes in one household. You may print copies for yourself and your household as often as you like.

You may not:

  • resell, rent, licence, share or give away the files, or upload them anywhere others can download them;
  • reproduce our text, layouts, illustrations or photographs outside your own household use;
  • use a Product to build, market or run a competing planner, course, membership or service;
  • use a Product in a commercial cleaning, coaching or client-facing business without a written licence from us;
  • scrape, copy or compile the Site or its content into a database or dataset, including for training machine-learning models;
  • interfere with the Site’s security, hosting or availability, or attempt to reach parts of it you have not been given access to; or
  • use the Site or the Products for anything unlawful, abusive or misleading.

Breaking these rules ends your licence immediately. All intellectual property in the Site and the Products stays with us or our licensors; nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.

5. Emails and support

We will email you about your order. If you have asked for our list, we will also send occasional emails about routines and new Products — you can unsubscribe from those at any time from the link in any email. Support is available at support@prettytidy.me; we try to answer everyone, and we ask you to be kind to the person reading. We may end support, or close your access, if we are treated abusively.

6. The Site is provided as it is

We work to keep the Site available and the Products accurate, but we provide both “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law will not let us exclude. In particular we do not promise that the Site will always be available or free of errors, that defects will be corrected, that files will be free of harmful components, or that the Products will produce any particular result for you.

The Site may link to third-party sites, tools or products. We do not control them, do not endorse them by linking, and are not responsible for them. Your dealings with them are between you and them.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, special, incidental, punitive or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost data, or damage to property or surfaces, arising out of your use of the Site or the Products.

Our total liability in connection with these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred dollars ($100).

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

8. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless Pretty Tidy and the people who work with us against any claim, loss, liability or reasonable legal cost brought by a third party because of your use of the Products, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of someone else’s rights.

9. Law, disputes and the rest

  • Claims must be brought individually, not as part of a class or consolidated action, and within one (1) year of the claim arising.
  • Using the Site, emailing us and completing our forms are electronic communications, and you consent to receiving notices from us electronically.
  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a right immediately does not waive it.
  • If you are a consumer and we cannot settle a complaint between us after you have written to us, you may be entitled to take it to a consumer mediation or alternative dispute resolution service where you live.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive — ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity — continue to apply after you stop using the Site.

Questions about these Terms are welcome at support@prettytidy.me.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what we collect when you visit prettytidy.me or buy from us, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. The controller of your personal data is Pretty Tidy. For anything privacy-related, write to support@prettytidy.me.

What we collect

  • What you give us. Your email address, your name if you enter one, your billing country, and anything you write to us in a support message or a review.
  • Order information. What you bought, when, the amount, the currency, and whether the order succeeded. Card and bank details are handled entirely by our payment provider — we receive confirmation of payment and, at most, the last four digits and card type. We never store your full card number.
  • Technical information. IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and browser type, referring page, and the pages you viewed. Collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Advertising and analytics data. If you arrived from a social platform or search ad, our analytics and advertising tools may record that visit and whether it led to a purchase.
  • Email engagement. If you are on our list, whether our emails were opened and which links were clicked.

We do not ask for and do not want health information. Nothing in our Products is a medical record, and you should not send us clinical details.

Why we use it

  • To take your payment and deliver what you bought — necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To answer your messages and handle refund requests — contract and our legitimate interest in running a support function.
  • To send marketing emails and show ads — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To understand how the Site is used and improve it, and to prevent fraud and abuse — our legitimate interests.
  • To keep tax, accounting and dispute records — our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the shop, each bound to use it only for the service they provide us:

  • our payment provider, Gumroad, to take payment and process refunds;
  • our email and file-delivery providers, to send you what you bought and our emails;
  • our hosting and file-delivery providers;
  • analytics and advertising providers, including Google Analytics and the Meta and TikTok advertising platforms; and
  • professional advisers, or authorities where the law requires it, or a buyer if the business is ever sold.

Where it goes, and how long we keep it

Some of our providers are based outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data leaves the UK or the EEA we rely on approved safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, support correspondence for up to three years, and marketing contact details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another provider. You can withdraw consent to marketing at any time, and unsubscribing from any email does it instantly. Email support@prettytidy.me and we will respond within one month.

If you are in the EEA or the UK you may also complain to your national data protection authority. If you are a California resident you have the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted, to correct it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context advertising — we do not sell your data, and you can opt out of advertising cookies at any time. We will never treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the checkout, plus analytics cookies that tell us which pages work, and advertising cookies that measure whether an ad led to a purchase. The non-essential ones are only set with your consent, which you can change at any time. Our Cookie Policy sets out the detail.

Children

Pretty Tidy is sold to adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their data, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you by email when the change is significant.

Disclaimer

Please read this carefully. It should be read together with our Terms of Use, which contain the same protections in a longer form.

We are not a healthcare provider

Pretty Tidy is a cleaning, routine and planning tool. Pretty Tidy is not a licensed medical, psychological or healthcare provider, and does not offer medical or mental-health services of any kind — no assessment, diagnosis, counselling, therapy, prescription or treatment.

Our Products are designed for organisation, routines, planning and general wellbeing. They do not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent ADHD, depression, anxiety, burnout, or any other medical or mental-health condition. Language such as “for ADHD brains” describes who we made these routines for; it is not a clinical claim and it is not a substitute for an assessment or for care.

Using Pretty Tidy does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–client or other professional relationship between you and us. Please talk to a qualified professional before making decisions that could affect your health, and never delay or stop care you are receiving because of something you read in one of our Products.

Results are not guaranteed

Everything we publish is for general information. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness or effectiveness of any Product, or for how it is used. Reviews and testimonials on our Site describe individual experiences shared by real customers; they are not typical results, not verified outcomes, and not a promise of what will happen for you. Your home, your energy and your life are yours — what you get out of a routine depends on you.

Cleaning safely is your responsibility

  • Always follow the instructions and warnings on the label of any cleaning product you use, and never mix products — some combinations release dangerous fumes.
  • Ventilate the room, wear gloves where the label says to, and keep products away from children, pets and food.
  • Test any method on a small, hidden area first. Surfaces, finishes, stone, wood and fabrics vary, and we cannot know yours.
  • Follow the care label on garments and textiles. Where our guidance and a manufacturer’s instructions differ, the manufacturer wins.
  • We are not liable for damage to property, surfaces, garments or belongings, or for any reaction or injury, arising from following our routines. You use them at your own risk.

Brands and links

Where a Product mentions a tool or brand, it is because we find it useful — not because we are paid to. Any affiliate or sponsored relationship will be disclosed where it applies. Third-party names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used descriptively only.

Digital products

Pretty Tidy Products are digital. No physical item is shipped; access is delivered digitally after purchase. See our Refund Policy for what that means for refunds.

Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files a site stores on your device so it can remember things. We use them sparingly, and this page says which ones and why. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.

The four kinds we use

  • Strictly necessary. They keep your cart and your checkout session working and help block fraud. Without them the shop cannot take a payment, so these are always on and do not need consent.
  • Functional. They remember small preferences — your language, that you have already dismissed a banner, your cookie choices themselves.
  • Analytics. They tell us, in aggregate, which pages people read and where they leave, so we can fix the parts that are not working.
  • Advertising. If you arrived from a social or search ad, these measure whether that visit led to a purchase, and may be used to show you or people like you our ads elsewhere.

Who sets them

Some are set by us. Others are set by the providers we rely on to run the shop — our store and checkout platform, our payment provider, and our analytics and advertising tools, including Google Analytics and the Meta and TikTok advertising platforms. Those providers use the data under their own privacy policies as well as ours, and we list them in the Privacy Policy.

Your choice, and changing it

Where the law requires consent — in the EEA, the UK and a growing number of other places — nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is set until you agree. You can accept all, reject the non-essential ones, or choose category by category, and you can change your mind later from the cookie settings link in our footer.

You can also clear or block cookies in your browser at any time, and browse in a private window. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will break checkout. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as an opt-out of advertising cookies.

How long they last

Session cookies disappear when you close your browser. Persistent ones last from a few days up to two years depending on what they do; advertising cookies are the longest-lived, and clearing them in your browser removes them immediately.

Changes

If we add or remove a tool we will update this page and the date at the top of it. Questions are welcome at support@prettytidy.me.
